Scouts lucky or unlucky?
Turners Beach Scouts were ‘snowed-in’ at the Scout Hut after a big dump of snow overnight Friday. The depth of fresh snow meant the scouts couldn’t venture too far from the hut and with the road closed on Sunday between Ronny Creek and the Visitor Centre then the Scouts were able to enjoy another (unplanned) night at the hut. The unlucky part is that it was school holidays so the Scouts didn’t necessarily get a day off school to play in the snow.
The snow depth at the Hydro Tasmania’s snow gauge at Waldheim was at a depth of 400mm which was the same level as the Great Snow dump of 2017!
