Changes to our booking policy and fees.

One visit per person per calendar year
We choose to make The Scout Hut available for anyone to book because we appreciate how privileged we are to be the custodians of such a special facility in a unique part of the world and being open to all allows us to ‘put the happiness into the lives of others’.
Unfortunately, we again had some people over the past year tried to flaunt our access policy of ‘one booking per group per Scout Hut year’. This is extremely disappointing and disrespectful of what we believe is an honourable approach of trying to maximise the number of people who get to experience The Scout Hut. Subsequently bookings were cancelled and access ban’s were issued.
To avoid any confusion, we’ve revised our policy and it is now strictly ‘one visit per person per calendar year.’
Any visit as part of a School Group booking or a Scout/Guide/Leader/Parent Helper on an approved Scout/Guide camp, these visits are exempt from being counted.
Flat rate nightly fee for Scout Family and General Public
Our board has revised our fee structure and from 01 May 2025 (for Scout Family and General Public bookings) there will no longer be nightly per person charges but rather a flat rate of $150 per night to hire the hut.
For youth groups (Scout/Guide Groups, School Groups, etc.), these bookings will continue to be charged on a per person per night basis.
